The Mâché mix tape is 30-minute collection of remixes and beats from 3 of Calgary’s youngest up and coming producers, Illangelo, 99, and Pierce (Dominic Fabrig). The project was a 2-week experiment in collaboration between artists from different backgrounds, all hoping to expose each other to new audiences and opportunities. The result is an eclectic style clash of great new music inspired by new movements in Electro, House, Hip Hop, and Disco. Album highlights include: A remix of the charted ‘Make It Rain’ by Kay & Aace, ‘Delphine’, ‘Willing To Wait’, and ‘Panel’.
The entire world writes whats on their mind with Facebook, Twitter and a hundred other Social Network sites. Instead of writing what I decided to do is create a photo gallery. It’s titled DAYDREAMER. I’ve released the first photo of the gallery. Take a look!
Aside from reaching 24 on the Top 30 Chart – The song I Produced & Wrote with Kay & Aace called Make It Rain made it on the Top 7 @ 7 on The Beat 94.5 Vancouver
You know how Kanye said…..
“Lock yourself in a room doin’ five beats a day for three summers”
Everyone is looking for the next big thing in music. So Gakcity.com, Thepressplayshow.com, and Mick Boogie came together to present music’s next big superstar Curtis Santiago with an eclectic rock, soul, and hip hop inspired mix cd.
Curtis Santiago and his band mate Mikey Mike took their favorite electro, pop, rock, and hip hop songs from last year and instead of doing a traditional cover of each song they decided to reproduce each song entirely. This mix cd is a showcase of Curtis Santiago’s soulful vocals and Mikey Mike’s powerful guitar riffs and melodic productions.
After one listen to Curtis’s remakes of hit songs by artists’ such as T.I., The Killers, Lykke Li, Kings of Leon, Santogold, Kanye West, & many others mixed with a few of Curtis’s original songs you will see why this mix cd is called ” HAVE MERCYYY!”
Curtis Santiago is a Canadian born musician and an accomplished artist. Curtis’s paintings have helped open doors for his music and vice versa. No matter the comparisons you attempt to draw from Prince to Lenny Kravitz to the Fresh Prince, Curtis Santiago’s music and art explode with color & depth, and will make you want more!
How crazy is that! Big THANK YOU to everyone involved who made this possible. Tune into 94.5 if your in Vancouver or listen live on www.thebeat.com to hear it.
